Before you read this, take a little time to read from the book of Daniel (from the Bible) Chapter 1. The long & short of it is: Daniel and his boys are uprooted from their home and placed in a foreign land to be brainwashed into serving false gods. But Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, was somewhat of a smart man, and he didn’t use force right away… Check what Daniel & the guys do! They decided not to give into eating Neb’s royal food. You know that this had to be some choice stuff. I’m sure it was like an all you can eat buffet. But get this, Daniel & the crew realized that if they gave into this one thing they would be giving into a host of problems. So they tell Neb, with all due respect just give us vegetables & water, and in 10 days I bet we will look in better shape than any other man in your army. Ten days later, Daniel & his boys did look healthier than anyone else in that kingdom.
For me, I don’t think I could go 10 days just on vegetables & water. So my goal is to give up soda for 2 months. I’m Choosing to Lose my “Right” to drink soda! Maybe someday I will try the vegetable thing. If you think you can do, go for it! More power to you. If not, find something else that you can Choose to Lose. Don’t cheat and say smoking if you don’t already smoke!
